Copyright registration happens when you distribute your song through services like TuneCore, DistroKid, or similar platforms.
During the distribution process, those services ask which stores and services you want your song registered with. One of those options is YouTube Content ID.
That option is where most artists make a mistake. Read the section below carefully before you click anything.

Distribution ke time ye services poochti hain ki aap apna gaana kahan-kahan register karna chahte ho. Usme ek option hota hai YouTube Content ID ka.

What is YouTube Content ID? It is a system YouTube uses to identify copyrighted material in videos. When enabled, YouTube scans every uploaded video and flags matches against your registered content.
Enabling Content ID does not directly affect your streams or earnings — but it has serious licensing consequences if you only hold a lease.
Lease license: do not enable Content ID.
The option appears while selecting stores in TuneCore or DistroKid. Uncheck or disable it.
If you enable Content ID with only a lease license, you are claiming ownership of a beat you do not fully own. Your lease becomes invalid and you risk a copyright strike for illegal use.
Exclusive license: Content ID is fine.
You own the beat. Registering it with Content ID is legitimate and protects your work on YouTube.

Content ID ka option TuneCore ya DistroKid mein stores select karte waqt aata hai. Usse uncheck ya disable kar dena.
Agar lease leke bhi Content ID enable kar diya, toh aap ek aisi beat ki ownership claim kar rahe ho jo poori tarah aapki nahi hai. Lease invalid ho jaata hai aur copyright strike aa sakti hai.
